Just a Little Christmas (A Cowboy Christmas #3) by Janet Dailey

Ellie Marsden couldn’t wait to shake the dust of Branding Iron, Texas, off her heels and chase after bright lights, big city, and a wealthy husband. Now she’s come home, divorced, a little disillusioned, and a whole lot pregnant. Leave it to her one-time high school sweetheart, cattle rancher Jubal McFarland, to point out that citified Ellie is as out of place in small-town Texas as her teacup poodle. So why is there something about being back—and being with Jubal—that feels surprisingly right?
Jubal’s eight-year-old daughter, Gracie, needs a mother, but he hasn’t found the perfect woman. Or maybe the problem is that he did find her, and had his heart broken when she left town. Gracie’s already falling hard for Ellie and that ball of fluff she calls a dog. And no matter how hard the rugged cowboy tries to resist, there’s no denying the appeal of first love and sweet new beginnings—especially when there’s a little Christmas magic in the air .

Review: Thank you NetGalley for the copy of Just a Little Christmas by Janet Dailey that I read and reviewed.
This book was a very good second chance romance. I really enjoyed Ellie and Jubal's story. This is very heart warming Christmas story. I have not read any of the others in the series but this is a true stand alone.
I thought this was great read and I am giving it five out of five stars.

THE FORGOTTEN (L.A.P.D. Special Investigations - Prequel Book 0) by Linda Style

A MAN ON A MISSION
Security specialist Logan Wakefield rushes from his covert job abroad to a Chicago hospital to see his injured daughter. Seeing his ex-wife at his daughter’s side, he’s slammed by feelings he thought long buried. But he’s not about to fall into that trap again. All that matters is his little girl, Hallie. She’s in a coma…and no one knows what happened on the school playground.
DANGER
Number one in attorney Dana Marlowe Wakefield’s life is her daughter. Number two is her job, and she’s definitely not telling Logan about the threats on her life, not when her hard-fought goal to become the Cook County State’s Attorney is a heartbeat away. He'd insist on helping, and the last thing she needs is to spend time with the sexy man who was once the love of her life.
DESIRE
When Hallie awakens with strange memory gaps, and additional threats against Dana surface, Logan and Dana agree they must protect Hallie...even if it means sharing the same house for a while. Being so close, old sparks of desire re-ignite. But nothing has changed. They’re still the same people who couldn’t make it work before. How can they protect both their little girl...and their hearts?

Review: Thank you NetGalley for the copy of The Forgotten by Linda Style that I read and reviewed.
I loved this book. Logan and Dana were an excellent match and I enjoyed this prequel to the L.A.P.D Special Investigation series which I have read a number of books from earlier that highly enjoyed.
Dana and Logan are a divorced couple who are forced to play house again when their daughter gets hurt on the playground and loses her memory and believes that her family is still a family so in order to try to help their daughter Logan moves back into the family home and tries to keep things "normal" for Hallie. But then things take a turn when Logan realizes his family really is in danger and he will do anything to protect them and things are starting to heat up again between him and Dana.
This book has bit of everything: romance, suspense, a family finding itself again and if you have been following the L.A.P.D Special Investigations series a bit about how it all started. I am giving this book five out of five stars.

Close to Heaven (Colorado High Country #5) by Pamela Clare

A woman at a crossroads…
Rain Minear has fantasized about finding herself in Joe Moffat’s arms for years. It’s just her luck that the night it finally happens, he’s carrying her into the emergency room. It’s Joe who steps up to help her when a tragedy brings her life crashing down. He gives her a place to stay, helps her get back on her feet, and even tries to save her Christmas, though he’s never cared for the holiday. But he’s far too ethical to sleep with a member of his staff, holding her at arms length despite the long-simmering attraction between them.
A man haunted by the past…
Joe Moffat moved to Scarlet Springs to repay a debt. He’s struggled for years to keep his hands off Rain. She’s the general manager of his brewpub, and he is not that kind of boss. But, oh, she turns him on. More than that, she has the biggest heart of any woman he’s ever known. He’d do anything to see her smile again, even put up a Christmas tree and listen to carols.
A season that changes two lives forever…
When a Rocky Mountain blizzard leaves them snowbound, they can no longer ignore their feelings for one another. As their passion turns to something deeper, it becomes clear to them both that this will be the most important Christmas of their lives.

This was the first book in the Colorado High Country series that I have read and it will not be the last. I loved Close to Heaven by Pamela Clare and I can't wait to read more in this series.
Rain and Joe were such a perfect couple I could not out the book down because I could not wait to see what was going to happen between those two. The chemistry between them was awesome and the entire story was just heartwarming. I mean who could not love a romance twenty years in the making?
I am giving Close to Heaven five out of five stars.
