His Touch by Patty Blount

When a strikingly handsome paramedic finds Kara Larsen‘s lost toddler, only to lecture her for failing to mind her child, Kara is embarrassed and relieved she’ll never have to deal with him again… no matter how good looking he is. Doesn’t he know being a single mom is a lot harder than it seems?! But when baby Nadia has trouble breathing one night, Kara’s frantic 911 call brings that same intense first responder right to her door…

Review: I was given a copy of His Touch from NetGalley for an honest review so this is my review.
This was a very heartwarming romance book. I loved the characters and the story. I especially liked liked the idea that someone who you had lost lost like Kara did would give you signs to help you find the right person for you and in her case it was Reid.
This entire book pulls at your heartstrings from start to finish. I don't want to get into spoilers but for me this was a very emotional book and I loved it. The pairing of Reid and Kara was well written and very well done. The only problem I had with the book was I thought this was the first of the series but it pretty much told how all the other couples got together so one would think this would be last unless is fits elsewhere and that was a bit of a letdown due to spoilers for upcoming books.
With that said, I really did enjoy this book, it was a fast read for me and I am going to give it five out of five stars.

Now she just wants to live her life in peace with her beloved dogs. No men, no complications. PRIMAL FORCE
Lauray "Law" Batisse is a Military Police veteran who was wounded in Afghanistan. Haunted by the loss of his K-9 partner in combat, he’s reluctant to accept a service dog named Samantha into his life. But once he meets her trainer—the gorgeous Jori Garrison—he can’t fight his primal instincts. And neither can Jori. This sexy alpha male might be the only man strong enough to unleash her desires. And when unseen enemies start hunting them down, he and his new K-9 partner might be her only hope… to survive.

Review: I was given an ARC of Primal Force from NetGalley for an honest review and this is the review.
This book started with a lot of hot sex and ended the same way way so I can honestly say this book was HOT. Now with that being said the attraction between Jori and Law was off the charts hot from start to finish. I loved how they tried to fight the attraction but could not fight the primal force that kept drawing them together.
The one part of the book that was hard for me to get use to was when Samantha, the dog was talking. True, it was like she was talking in her head about her alpha male (Law)  but for some reason ever time the dog's thoughts were written I got the giggles.
I also enjoyed the suspense part of the plot. I enjoyed the fact that it linked Jori and Law's past together in a small way.
Overall, this was an enjoyable book and I am giving it four out of five stars.

Between the Lines (A Baxter Novel) by Jane Charles

As a reporter, Ellen West has an inherent need to dig up secrets and expose them, and the Baxter School of the Arts is concealing a secret she has vowed to find. But on the path to the truth, she finds Gabe Kent, former ball player, and he sets about the path to finding out her truth, and it’s much more complicated than anyone could have suspected.
A school for the talented and the wounded.
A secret that threatens to destroy the whole system.
A threat that’s lurking in the background.
Blinding passion that clouds her vision.
A love unlike she could ever have dreamed.

Gabe Kent might be more than she can handle. But she certain he’s more than she deserves.

Review: I was given a copy of Between the Lines from NetGalley for an honest review and this is my review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was full of intrigue, romance and suspense. There was were a few really hot sex scene that lit up my Kindle but the chemistry between Ellen and Gabe called for that kind of passion. I really enjoyed how real the characters were and how they had real problems. It was also refreshing that both characters had some sort of illness or physical problem to deal with and was not totally perfect.
The storyline was great with two kind of problems for Ellen to work out. The one she is hiding from in her past and the one she is trying to unravel at Baxter. It keeps the reader on their toes and guessing throughout the entire book.
As I mentioned before the romance and chemistry between the characters was also very well written. They were both very believable.
I highly enjoyed Between the Lines and am giving it four out of five stars.

Hostage Taker (Eve Rossi #1) by Stefanie Pintoff

From Edgar Award winner Stefanie Pintoff comes the start of an electrifying new thriller series featuring Eve Rossi, head of a secret division of the FBI - one made up of ex-convicts with extraordinary talents, oversized egos, and contempt for the rules. Perfect for readers of Iris Johansen and Catherine Coulter.
TERROR STRIKES AN ICONIC CHURCH - AND BRINGS A CITY TO ITS KNEES.
In the hushed quiet of early morning Manhattan, in front of the towering brass doors of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, a young woman holds a sign that reads: HELP ME. For one FBI agent, a madman's terrified hostages, and an entire city, a long and harrowing day is about to unfold.
The hostage taker's identity is unknown. But he knows who FBI agent Eve Rossi is - and everything about her past. Along with her presence, he demands five witnesses: ordinary people with some hidden connection. Defying her superiors, Eve begins a deadly dance with an adversary whose intentions are surely sinister, whose endgame is anything but certain, and whose cunning keeps him one step ahead at every turn.
As Eve manages a taut hostage situation, she relies on the combined skills of her team - a secret unit inspired by France's most notorious criminal and made up of ex-convicts with extraordinary talents, oversized egos, and contempt for the rules.
Eve is up against a rapidly ticking clock. But the dangerous man calling the shots has a timetable of his own - and a searing question for his targets: What are you guilty of? As shocking revelations surface, so does another crisis nobody could anticipate - one not even Eve and her team may be able to stop.

Review: I was given an ARC of Hostage Taker from NetGalley for an honest review and this is the review.
I was now to sure about this book at first because it started out a bit slow until you met the entire team and they started working the case together and then the action started. I can honestly say I thought I had it all figured out who the hostage taker was and I was just going through the motions to find out why he did what he did and why he demanded for Eve to handle the negotiations and then out of nowhere the author throws all my theories out the window and I have no idea who the crazy person is who takes a church hostage and why. I loved it. This book truly kept me guessing until almost the end and boy did that end shock me.
I can't wait for more in this series. This team the author has put together to help the FBI is a bunch of former criminals who one can't help but adore. Mace just sounds like he would be a thug you would have no choice but root for to overcome his past. Eli seems like the nerd you want pat on the head and not believe he did anything wrong. Garcia is the vet that you want to avoid looking at because you don't want to set him off and you also don't want to face the broken man that came back from serving our country. As for Haddox he is the one that can charm his way out of anything and the reader has to love that about him. Then there is Eve the actual agent who leads the team who right now is as broken and messed up guys that have her back. To me this is a very interesting dynamic for this series and this first book was very good and I can't wait to see what the author does with these great characters.
I am giving Hostage Taker four out of five stars.

Bride on the Run (Runaway Brides #4) by Catherine Mann and Joanne Rock

Valerie Dimitri is on the run from her former fiancĂ© who’d only wanted to marry her for her family’s questionable criminal ties. She also has the perfect cover with an assumed name and a thriving call-in advice show, “Sex Talk with Serena”, until one messy call blows up in her face. When she counselled “Anna J” to break up her with her boyfriend, she had no idea that she was telling a local celebrity to dump the hometown hero ballplayer, Boone Sullivan.
Boone has discovered Valerie’s real identity and he’s determined to expose her secrets… and maybe more. What he didn’t expect was to be blindsided by a crazy attraction to the buttoned-up lady with the sultry voice and a hidden past. He had carefully plotted his revenge, but soon all he can think about is how much he’d like to take Valerie as very own his stand-in bride…

Review: I was given a copy of Bride on the Run from NetGalley for an honest review and this is the review.
I absolutely adored this book. Even though this book was about Valerie leaving her groom at the alter I loved the fact the male hero was Boone from a previous book who was dumped by having his girlfriend because of some advice
Serena/Valerie had given her. It was so awesome so read Boone's side of the breakup because a lot of time the men get forgotten and it was refreshing to see Boone's side of the story.
I pairing of Boone and Valerie was great. They fit each other so well. You could fell the chemistry between them as you were reading their story. I liked how they had so much in common yet they had such different views on life and relationships.
This book was an excellent addition to the series and was well written with a great story and excellent characters. I am giving Bride on the Run five out of five stars.

Again, Alabama by Susan Sands

Cammie Laroux is back in Alabama---again.
Dragged back to her small town to help her mother recover from surgery while rescuing the family event planning business should be a cinch. Even for a disgraced television chef, right? Wrong.
Among the many secrets Cammie's family’s been hiding is the fact that their historic home is falling down. Oh, and the man hired to restore the house, Grey Harrison, is the same high school and college love of her life who thrashed her heart and dreams ten years ago. Yeah, that guy.
Grey, a widower with a young daughter, has never stopped loving Cammie, and when they are face to face once again, the chemistry is off the charts. Cammie may be in full-blown denial, but letting go is no longer in Grey’s vocabulary, even when winning Cammie’s forgiveness and renovating their love may seem like an impossible build even for a master architect and carpenter.
As Cammie finds herself forgetting all the reasons she can’t trust Grey or love again, he finds himself remembering all the reasons he wants her to stay with him in Alabama… forever.

Review: I was given a copy of Again, Alabama from NetGalley for an honest review and this is the review.
I honestly enjoyed this book. To me it was a sweet story about second chances and being able to get things right the second time around. I really liked Cammie and Grey as characters and I loved how hard he tried to make things right with Cammie when we was given a second chance to fix things. I also found it interesting that there was the same situation going on with Cammie's mom and her first love and how she was going through the same thing as her daughter. I will not say anything more because of spoiler reasons but I truly loved that part of the book.
Overall, this book was very well written, had great characters, a great story and was very good read. I am giving Again, Alabama four out of five stars.

Silent Creed (Ryder Creed #2)

Most of them were asleep in their beds when the ground gave way. . . .
When Ryder Creed responds to a devastating mudslide in North Carolina, he knows the difference between finding survivors and the dead—is time. Heedless of the dangers, Creed and his best search-and-rescue dog Bolo frantically wade through the chaos of twisted tree limbs, crumbled cement, and unrecognizable debris, when a second slide catches up with Ryder. And he is buried alive.
Bolo makes it out, though, and leads the heroic rescue of his master. What they get when they pull Ryder out from the mud is much more than they bargained for. The secrets in the mud around Creed run deep, pointing to a possible serial killer and unexpectedly dredging up painful, hushed-up pieces of Creed’s own past.
The mysteries unearthed will bring Ryder Creed face-to-face with his past loyalties, deeply embedded survivor’s guilt, and a powerful figure from his past. He’ll have to rely on his dogs if he wants to make it through alive.  '

Review: I think I have a crush on Ryder Creed. I can honestly say he is one of my favorite male characters in a series out on the market right now and I just love this series by Alex Kava.
Now with that said, I loved Silent Creed. With this being the second book in the series it was excellent and I was so happy to see Maggie O'Dell in this book as well because I love the chemistry between her and Creed. The plot in the book was excellent with a bit a suspense and a nice cliffhanger that maybe the setup for the next book. I am not going to get into spoilers but a number of characters from past books from the Maggie O'Dell series were in this book and some of the things that took place in those books and the first one in the Creed series was discussed so I really enjoyed how everything fit together so well even though this could be a stand alone.
Needless to say I am giving Silent Creed five out of stars as I patiently wait for the next Alex Kava book.

Each believed the other to be something truly monstrous, but only one carries the secret that would haunt the generations to come.

Review: I was given an ARC of The Night Sister from NetGallwy for an honest review and this is my review.
I will start off by saying this is not the normal kind of book I would find myself people picking up. I usually am not into fantasy fiction. With that said after I wrapped my mind around the idea of a mare or what I more or less took as a shape shifter I really enjoyed this book. I felt it was very clever how it was told over a number of decades by different view points of the main characters who were telling their part of the story to clear up a couple of mysteries. To me that part was very well written and I really enjoyed it.
I also liked the characters in the book. They all were very engaging and how the relationships between them all were linked was well done and add a lot to the the book.
The part which the book was the book was mainly about that I did struggle with a bit was the idea of mares. But as I stated before I am not use to this area of writing and once I wrapped my mind around it I did enjoy that twist which added a different element to this book.
Overall this book had a well written plot, good charters and some interesting twist and it is because of this I am giving is four out of five stars.

Friction by Sandra Brown

A Texas Ranger, relegated to deskwork due to past recklessness, petitions to regain custody of his five-year-old daughter, and his case is assigned to a family court judge who is as attractive as she is ambitious. When a masked gunman barges in during the custody hearing with his sights on the judge, the Ranger reacts instinctually and goes after him. But authorities apprehend the wrong man, and the real gunman remains unknown, at large, and a threat. Will this take-charge lawman jeopardize his chances of custody by going after the would-be assassin? And will this unlikely pair be able to deny the forbidden attraction building between them?

Review: I was given an ARC of Friction from NetGalley for an honest review so this is my review.
Friction was a pretty good romantic suspense book by Sandra Brown. In some spots it did seem to drag on but in others the action did pick up so for the most part the book was really well balanced. I also really enjoyed the chemistry between Holly and Crawford. It was very raw and powerful between them. I can honestly saw they were not a "heart and flowers" kind of couple. The suspense in the story was also pretty good you pretty much know who was behind the crime but not why until the very end. Personally, I like totally surprises myself but this worked okay with this book.
This was not one of Brown's best but it was definitely worth reading so I am giving it four out of five stars. I would have liked a bit more secrecy in book for it to be better for me.
