When Chase Ryan, a
popular crime TV star, turns up dead, the entire town of Solitude is
shaken—but the show isn’t over yet. The confessed murderer is violently
abducted on the way to the county jail, and now Detective Seth Harding
must find both the killer and the kidnapper.
Seth’s investigation
unearths unsavory secrets from the celebrity’s life that incriminate a
cast of suspects: Chase’s family, his sleazy agent, and a fanatical
stalker with a troubled thirteen-year-old daughter. When that same teen
disappears from her temporary foster home, Seth’s wife, social worker
Carly Taylor, is drawn into the search.
Dodging paparazzi and
peril, Seth and Carly track the girl. But as they get closer to
uncovering the truth, the abductor sets the stage for a chilling finale…
Review: Thanks NetGalley for the copy of Burned By Her Devotion by Melinda Leigh that I was able to review.
I loved this two book novella series by Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliott.
In
this book we find out what really happened to Chase Ryan a movie star
who was murdered in Solitude, Oregon, a small town he visits with his
son, brother and a couple of good friends each year. It is up to Seth
and Carly to figure how the man who admitted to the murder managed to
escape from police custody and where the daughter of the crazy lady who
likes to start fires and who believed that she was involved with Chase
disappear to when she left her foster parent's home.
Was the case as
easy as it seemed or is there more to it like Seth's gut is telling him?
And who wants Chase Ryan's killer to pay the ultimate price?
Burned By Her Devotion was a great addition to the Rogue Novels Family and I am giving it five out of five stars.
